"The Certification That Inspires Utmost Confidence If you plan to build a career in information security – one of today’s most visible professions – and if you have at least five full years of experience in information security, then the CISSP® credential should be your next career goal. It’s the credential for professionals who develop policies and procedures in information security.

The CISSP was the first credential in the field of information security, accredited by the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) to ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 17024:2003. CISSP certification is not only an objective measure of excellence, but a globally recognized standard of achievement." - ISC2.org

CISSP-ISSAP

ISSAP®: Information Systems Security Architecture Professional

certification will satisfy a DoD8570-01.M requirements:
IASAE III

"Recognition for Advanced Expertise in Information Security Architecture
This concentration requires a candidate to demonstrate two years of professional experience in the area of architecture and is an appropriate credential for Chief Security Architects and Analysts who may typically work as independent consultants or in similar capacities. The architect plays a key role within the information security department with responsibilities that functionally fit between the C-suite and upper managerial level and the implementation of the security program. He/she would generally develop, design, or analyze the overall security plan. Although this role may typically be tied closely to technology this is not necessarily the case, and is fundamentally the consultative and analytical process of information security." - ISC2.org

CISSP-ISSEP

ISSEP®: Information Systems Security Engineering Professional

certification will satisfy a DoD8570-01.M requirements:
IASAE III

"Recognition for Advanced Expertise in Information Security Engineering
This concentration was developed in conjunction with the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) providing an invaluable tool for any systems security engineering professional. CISSP®-ISSEP is the guide for incorporating security into projects, applications, business processes, and all information systems. Security professionals are hungry for workable methodologies and best practices that can be used to integrate security into all facets of business operations. The SSE model taught in the IATF portion of the course is a guiding light in the field of information security and the incorporation of security into all information systems " - ISC2.org

"Recognition for Advanced Expertise in Information Security Management
This concentration requires that a candidate demonstrate two years of professional experience in the area of management, considering it on a larger enterprise-wide security model. This concentration contains deeper managerial elements such as project management, risk management, setting up and delivering a security awareness program, and managing a Business Continuity Planning program. A CISSP®-ISSMP establishes, presents, and governs information security policies and procedures that are supportive to overall business goals, rather than a drain on resources. Typically the CISSP-ISSMP certification holder or candidate will be responsible for constructing the framework of the information security department and define the means of supporting the group internally.

CISSP-ISSMP professionals have a far more well-rounded and complete comprehension of information security than other popular management credentials" - ISC2.org

CompTIA A+

The CompTIA A+

certification will satisfy a DoD8570-01.M requirements: IAT I

A+ certification confirms technical proficiency across a wide range of both hardware and software knowledge of laptops and desktops, printers and other common peripherals, and the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of all of them. This certification is the international, vendor-neutral certification proving a technician’s competency to install, configure, and troubleshoot small computer issues.

CompTIA Network+

The CompTIA Network+

certification will satisfy a DoD8570-01.M requirements: IAT I

certification is the sign of a competent networking professional. This certification is the international, vendor-neutral certification that proves a technician’s competency to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain a basic network infrastructure.

Since introduction of this certification in 1999, more than 235,000 people have become CompTIA Network+ certified. Microsoft includes CompTIA Network+ in their Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) program, and other corporations such as Novell, Cisco and HP also recognize CompTIA Network+ as part of their certification tracks.

Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Network+ candidates have at least nine months of experience in network support or administration or academic training, along with a CompTIA A+ certification.

This class is taught by Tim Hoffman of the Alida Connection, one of the original authors of the Network+ Certification Guide, as a 5 day (8 hour per day) intensive study program. Students are provided additional reading, required to create mock examination questions (8 per night) and provided a separate CD with additional hands-on labs.

To reinforce learning we will perform a full Question and Answer review and a mentoring session one week after the class of both the submitted mock exam questions and by using commercial exam preparation software. We typically use Pass4Sure exam materials. Students will be provided with our contact email for personal follow-up as required.

CompTIA Security+

The CompTIA Security+

certification will satisfy a DoD8570-01.M requirements: IAT II

certification designates knowledgeable professionals in the field of security, one of the fastest-growing fields in IT. Security threats are increasing in number and severity, and the gap between the need for security professionals and qualified IT personnel is the largest of any IT specialty, according to a 2008 CompTIA study. Even in a troubled economy, most businesses plan to maintain or increase their investment in security.

CompTIA Security+ is an international, vendor-neutral certification that proves competency in system security, network infrastructure, access control and organizational security. Major organizations that employ CompTIA Security+ certified staff include Booz Allen Hamilton, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, ITT, Motorola, Symantec, Telstra, Hitachi, Ricoh, Lockheed Martin, Unisys, Hilton Hotels Corp., General Mills, the U.S. Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines.

Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Security+ candidates have at least two years of technical networking experience, with an emphasis on security. The CompTIA Network+ certification is also recommended.
